Magic is the effect of the lower impure souls. Hence its cure is done with appropriate ayats, Zikr and dua’s, which are opposed and against it. These completely remove its effects and influence. The more intense and powerful the zikr the more beneficial and successful the cure of magic will be. These are two opposing forces which are highly armed and are in plenty. Each one of them tries to overpower the other. Whichever one of them wins the other one becomes succumbed and helpless. Then the rule of the winner will prevail.
The heart which is alive with the remembrance of Allah and which is occupied with the Zikr of Allah and which receives the attention of Allah and seeks His protection will not be disturbed by it. In fact there will be uniformity between the heart and the tongue. Such a person is unlikely to be affected by magic. Even if it happens then this is the best cure.
Wise people have said, that a bewitched person is one who does not helps himself and that is why magic affects them. As a result their hearts are inclined towards many of those things to which one should not be paying attention too. Therefore such things become subdued upon them to which they are inclined and have regard for. At the same time impure souls are also in search of those souls, which possess the total capacity of accepting the influence of these impure sou1s. As a result their influence materialize on their appropriate conditions or their strength of struggle against them is weakened according to the extent Of their remoteness from the power of Allah. They then Consider them to be weak and seize them. In addition there exist in such persons the feeling of familiarity and a connection with them. As a Consequence these category of people are more prone to the influence of magic and are fully subjugated by it.

In the life of Prophet Muhammad SAW, he was once targeted by sorcerers, but he annulled their effect through the recitation of the verses of the Quran. According to various traditions, different parts of the Quran are described to have a positive effect on an individual in terms of negating and preventing the effects of witchcraft, or for general well being and becoming a better practicing Muslim.
Maulana Mohammad Zakariya RA collected these verses in book form, which were already in use in his family as an antidote to witchcraft. This collection is popularly referred to as Manzil.
Manzil is a collection of Ayaat and short Surahs from the Quran that are to be recited as a means of protection and antidote from black Magic, Jinn, Witchcraft, Sihr, Sorcery, Evil Eye and the like as well as other harmful things.
The Manzil comprises the following verses of the Quran:
Surah Al-Fatihah (chapter 1): verses 1 to 7
